A few days ago, oswell announced that it has launched two new surface mount resistors with 3921 and 5931 dimensions, 3921 and 5931. The resistors have a high power level of 5W to 10W and an extremely low resistance value as low as 0.0003Ω.
The 3921 resistors and 5931 resistors have advanced structures, using solid metal nickel-chromium alloy or copper-manganese-nickel alloy resistor bodies with low TCR (<20PPM/℃), and specially selected stable materials, so that these high-power resistors can be used in While achieving high power within the operating temperature range of -65°C to +170°C, it still has the excellent electrical characteristics of the Power Metal Strip structure.
The new devices enable the use of the lowest possible resistance in high-power circuits for higher-performance end products. Furthermore, the high temperature capability of the 3921 and 5931 resistors allows them to be used in harsh high temperature environments without sacrificing power rating or electrical performance.
These resistors are ideal for all current sensing, voltage dividing, and pulsing applications including switching and linear power supplies, instrumentation, and power amplifiers in automotive electronic controls such as engines, antilock brakes, and climate controls; used in oil, gas Industrial control systems such as downhole test and measurement equipment for drilling; and inverter control for HVAC systems.
The 3921 resistor measures 0.394" x 0.205" (10.0mm x 5.2mm) with a maximum height of 0.020" (0.5mm) and the 5931 measures 0.591" x 0.305" (15.0mm x 7.75mm) with a height of 0.020" ( 0.5mm). The patented processing technology makes the resistor have an extremely low resistance value of 0.0003Ω~0.004Ω, and a strict tolerance of 1.0% and 5.0%.
Like all Power Metal Strip resistors, the devices released today feature an all-solder construction, giving them superior electrical performance. 3921 and 5931 provide ultra-low sensitivity of 0.5ηH to 5ηH and low thermal EMF (< 3μV/℃).
Samples and production quantities of the new resistors are available now, with lead times of six to eight weeks for larger orders.
